Your Wedding

When planning for your wedding, it's important to put some time into figuring out what kind of atmosphere you want your guests to experience.

Many couples believe that the focus should be on who is attending, the venue, theme & decorations, food & drink and so on.

If you've ever watched a movie or TV show, and there is a scene in a bar, or at a party, it's usual that music is playing or being performed in the background right?

Now imagine if there was no music playing at all and it's just silence or just the sound of people yelling and talking only.

It sounds weird and off putting, and a lot of times, this happens at weddings where a DJ hasn't turned up, or the sound system is not loud enough to cater for the audience.

Music plays a huge role in setting the mood and creating atmosphere, so its important to get the right people or persons to perform this at your wedding.

Music and Technical Sound is often overlooked until the last minute, and this is dangerous as usually good DJ services are booked weeks in advance.

I've personally seen a wedding where the speeches have been resorted to yelling across a noisy room because there is no microphone service booked.

Another one where a friend or family member has "volunteered" to plug in their iPhone or laptop into a very poor sounding in-house sound system and play music that they might think is suitable for a wedding, mainly because the couple had thought "it'll be alright with Uncle Dave"

The night ended early because Dave only had Instrumental versions of songs, or karaoke tracks on his laptop.

Why a DJ?

A Dj is more than a person that plays pre-recorded music at your function.  A good DJ can do the following:

  • Co-ordinate Music cues to your Ceremony/ Reception activites ie. walking into the room, the first dance.

  • Supply top of the range Radio Microphones for clear sound of the ceremony and speeches

  • Set the mood with background music during cocktail hour and dinner

  • Ensures that the music is appropriate for the audience, including how loud to make it.

  • Can patch the videographer into the P.A. for clear audio recording

I could get someone like a family member or a friend to do it right?

Unless the person you are getting to DJ for you is an actual DJ, with actual DJ equipment, or has experience in this field, it's the equivalent of trying to change your oil and brake pads of your car yourself.

It's possible, but it's not as good as taking it to a trained professional with experience to do it properly.

Also DJs have professional Sound equipment suited for the function, so sound and music is played on stage certified gear, and not a in-house P.A. system or even worse, someones home stereo system (believe me I've seen it)

DJ's are so expensive

This is true, and we'd love to make your night memorable and hassle free, but to do this we need to bring the right tools and experience to your function.

In return we itemize what the fee pays for is so you can see where the costs are applied.

Planning ahead

We can come out to visit you at your home or work, and discuss your needs.

This 30 minute consult covers:

  • Sound and music tailored to your needs

  • If there are any songs to be cued up for your Ceremony or Reception

  • Edit the song to either extend it, or shorten it.  Maybe you want a medley of songs, it entirely up to you.

  • Help/ Confirm the Schedule for the night, and find out who the MC will be on the day.

  • Is your audience the dancing type crowd, or would they rather sit back and chat with other guests.

  • Any stage and lighting effects for your night?

  • Start and finish times

plus many more other questions that we will cover.

Extras at no cost

When you go out to your Ceremony and Reception Venues, call us and we can come out with you to look at the venue and help you figure out what Technical Sound requirements you might need.

  • Does the Ceremony area need amplified sound for the guests attending, or are you able to hear everything going on.

  • Will you have a videographer on the day taping the Ceremony? would he/she benefit from having clear sound from the mics recorded in the highest quality digital signal possible?

  • Do you want someone to co-ordinate with the MC, to be back up support and be a time keeper, maybe schedule holder?  Usual you MC is a family member or close friend, and sometimes they can get lost in the nights activities or meeting up with friends and family and lose track of time.  Your friendly DJ can help be his back up, and have a "base" for your MC to keep his notes, stow the microph, be the MC's hype-man before he gets on the mic. etc

With Andy Faitala you get 20 years of "on the job experience", and top of the line sound and lighting equipment.

Someone that has comprehensive understanding of wedding celebrations and activities and that would be delighted to offer Gold Class, Professional DJ Services for your special day.
